Priority Protection Express Income Protection Plan

Imagine if you couldn't work for a while. How would you cope financially? The Priority Protection Express Income Protection Plan covers you for up to 75% of your income and the premiums are generally tax deductible! 

The benefit payment can be used for any purpose - to help manage all your daily living expenses, such as mortgage, credit card payments, utility bills, food and transport costs , until you can get back to work. 

The application process is quick and easy with different cover levels available so that you can tailor your insurance to suit your needs. There are no medical tests, just a few simple questions and cover starts as soon as your application is accepted.

Key Features of Income Protection Plan

Features & Benefits Details
Choice of benefit period Choose the length of benefit period that suits you; there are 2 and 5 year options available to help meet your budget and needs.
Total Disablement benefit Receive up to 75% of your pre-disablement income on a monthly basis if you become disabled due to sickness or injury, and are unable to work.
Partial Disablement benefit If you have been unable to work in your own occupation in a full capacity and currently earn less than 25% of your pre-disablement income, you may be eligible for a monthly benefit.
Death benefit If you die, your beneficiaries will recieve six times your insured monthly benefit amount.
Terminal Illness benefit If you are receiving a benefit under the Income Protection Plan and are diagnosed with a Terminal Illness we will advance your payment of the Death benefit.
Benefit Indexation Each year your cover will be increased in line with inflation.
Premium Waiver benefit Insurance premiums are waived for the period you are on claim.
Rehabilitation Expenses benefit Helps with the costs of an approved rehabilitation program to help you recover.
Recurrent Disablement benefit If you have returned to work following payment of a claim and the same or related condition recurs within 12 months of returning to work, the waiting period will be waived and the benefit payment will recommence immediately. 
Cosmetic or Elective Surgery benefit Your monthly benefit will be paid if you become totally disabled as a result of:
  • cosmetic surgery, or
  • other elective surgery, or
  • organ transplant surgery.
Worldwide cover Protection anywhere, anytime, with our worldwide cover, 24hours a day, 7 days a week.
Cooling-off period Full refund of premiums paid if you have a change of heart and decide the policy is not right for you within the 28 day cooling off period.

Expiry age

Priority Protection Express Income Protection Plan expires on the policy anniversary immediately prior to you turning 65.


Your cover ends

As long as you pay your premiums, your cover will continue. However there are some circumstances where your cover may end which are explained below:-

• your death;
• cancellation of the plan;
• payment of the full benefit;
• lapse of the plan (non-payment of premiums); and
• the expiry date of the plan.

What’s not covered

It’s important for you to understand what you are not covered for under the Income Protection Plan. Details of the policy exclusions are listed below:

Income Protection benefit exclusions:
•  Death from suicide in the first 13 months from commencement of the benefit.
•  Any disablement, directly or indirectly, wholly or partially, caused by intentional self-inflicted injury or any such attempt by the life insured.
•  An event directly or indirectly caused by intentional self-inflicted injury or any such attempt by the life insured.
•  Disablement due to the life insured engaging in or taking part in service in the armed forces of any country.
•  Normal pregnancy, uncomplicated childbirth or miscarriage.
 
Needlestick Injury benefit exclusions:

•  Where a cure for HIV, AIDS, Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C has become available prior to the accident giving rise to the claim.
•  Acquiring HIV, AIDS, Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C from activities other than from performing the duties of your normal occupation.
